Monthly Meeting – 10/8

Yo Bonner fam!

The October Monthly Meeting is on Wednesday, 10/8 @ 7pm in the Jepson Lecture Hall (118). At this monthly meeting, we will continue to discuss and deepen our understanding and experience of poverty and the strategies the city has employed to create economic opportunities for residents. The focus of this monthly meeting will be workforce development and jobs.

To that end, Jamison Manion– an applied behavioral economist and the administrator of Richmond’s Center for Workforce Innovation — will be our guest speaker.

In preparation of the meeting, please read this Washington Post article, in which you’ll get an idea of the work going on at the Center for Workforce Innovation in Richmond, namely the story of a man with prospects of playing professional football forced to turn to the Center after being hit by a drunk driver:

As we’ve previously mentioned, since the meeting is later, we will not be serving food. There is, however, another Bonner Dinner that night from 5:45-6:45pm in the Westhampton Room of D-hall. We will pay for your meal if you don’t have a meal plan.

See you on Wednesday!
