LISC Interviews over the summer

Virginia Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) is a community-development nonprofit dedicated to helping community residents transform distressed neighborhoods into healthy and sustainable communities of choice and opportunity – good places to work, do business, and raise children. This summer, LISC needs volunteers to interview Highland Park residents about their ideas for neighborhood revitalization, particularly as it relates to the business corridor. LISC will identify residents to be interviewed and will train volunteers in interviewing techniques that include deep, active listening. Most interviews will be conducted on Saturdays. This is an outstanding volunteer opportunity for UR students interested in learning about community development, grassroots organizing, and Highland Park revitalization efforts.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact LISC senior program officer Veronica Fleming at 804-358-7602 ext. 12 or  804 201 5152 or by email at no later than April 23.
