Conversation on Interstates, Race, and Sprawl

When: 6p.m. on Thursday, March 27th

This is Historic Richmond’s final presentation in their Winter Lecture Series. Speakers will take a look at how the interstate system destroyed traditionally black neighborhoods, contributed to sprawl, and fragmented metropolitan Richmond. They will also focus on the urban design aspect of the interstate system and the impact it had on our downtown streetscapes and neighborhoods. We will explore ways to improve our transportation planning and opportunities to repair our urban fabric.

Andrew Moore, Principal & Director of Urban Architecture, Glavé & Holmes Architecture
