Miller Center Service-Learning Coordinator and Non-Profit Specialist at Hendrix College

The person in this position will be the point person in the Miller Center for the development and coordination of connections among service agencies, students, and faculty in the creation of service-learning partnerships that help students explore their vocational passions through service to others and investigate post-graduation opportunities in the non-profit or public service sector. Reporting directly to the Director of the Miller Center for Vocation, Ethics, and Calling, the person in this position will support the Center in its collaborative effort with several organs of the college including the Odyssey engaged-learning program and a new initiative for integrated advising. This is a 10-month full-time administrative staff position.Qualifications:  The ideal candidate will have field experience in the non-profit sector, demonstrated familiarity with service-learning pedagogy in a liberal arts context, and a commitment to and talent for helping students explore their vocational passions through service to others. A Master’s degree is preferred.

Hendrix’s Miller Center for Vocation, Ethics, and Calling works with students from across all religious and non-religious perspectives but also supports some programs specifically for the exploration of call to Christian ministry. Hendrix College is affiliated with the United Methodist Church, and ideal candidates will possess an appreciation for liberal-arts education in the church-related context and be able to support the Miller Center in its work with students exploring ministry and the integration of faith, learning, and life.
