Youth Life Foundation of Richmond (in partnership with Northminster Church) is seeking interns willing to serve middle and high school aged youth in Richmond’s Northside this summer by providing a safe, community-based environment to develop their skills and character while building positive relationships.
Dates: June 16-20, training and development
June 23-August 1, program
Hours: Training week hours vary
Monday-Wednesday, Middle/High School Enrichment Program, 12:00-5:00pm
Thursday, flexible hours for planning
Friday, occasional hours for trips and incentives
Job Description: Each intern will coordinate and plan the following:
- Sports and Recreation
- Leadership and Team Development
- Academic Enrichment
- Elective Courses
Interns will work with middle and high school students leading lessons and activities. Additional duties will include assisting with transportation, snacks, daily devotionals, upkeep of facilities, field trips, etc.
Funding: The internship is unpaid, but there are a few avenues for receiving financial support.
- Participants are encouraged to raise their own financial support if desired. Training will be available for those interested in pursuing this option.
- Many colleges and universities offer grant money for unpaid interns. Contact your school for more information about these opportunities
