Established in 1967, the Hispanic Committee of Virginia (HCV) assists Hispanic immigrants to thrive, socially and economically, and give back to their communities and the wider society. It is a non-partisan, 501c3 non-profit whose bilingual, bicultural staff serves more than 10,000 individuals annually. They are currently seeking three excellent candidates to fill out the following positions:
One full-time AmeriCorps VISTA member will continue the VISTA project to develop and implement a strategic volunteer outreach, recruitment, placement, training and recognition program. In its third year of formal operation, the Coordinator of HCV’s Volunteers in Action program will focus on program sustainability so the VISTA’s excellent work can continue long after the term of service. A well-managed volunteer program allows the Hispanic Committee to expand its capacity to provide quality services to more clients.
Outreach and Communications Coordinator
One full-time AmeriCorps VISTA member will lead HCV’s strategic communications and media outreach. The VISTA will help HCV to tell the world about the incredible work we do and inspire others to get involved through donations and volunteering. Tasks include expanding the donor/stakeholder database, networking on behalf of the organization, coordinating content creation for publicity and marketing material, managing electronic media such as e-newsletters and website content, and leading media outreach.
Asset Development Associate
One full-time AmeriCorps VISTA member will take the lead in strengthening our Asset Development Program. You will simultaneously promote integration of the Entrepreneurship, Homeownership, and Financial Capability Programs while vastly improving the Financial Capability Program. Tasks include creating training curriculum for credit, savings, and banking program activities, designing a client follow-up plan, implementing financial mentorship/ VIDA programs, and much more.
