The International Partnership for Service-Learning and Leadership is currently looking for volunteers for their 2012 Summer Medical Spanish Program in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The program is aimed at both student and professionals in medicine and pre-med, nursing, physician assistance, social work, dentistry, psychology, nutrition, physical therapy, EMT, etc. Students can spend a summer focusing on medical Spanish, living with a host family, and serving 10-20 hours per week in an Ecuadorian health/human-services-based facility. Service provides immersion in local culture in way that improves both language and societal knowledge. The program runs from June 27 to Aug. 3 and costs $4,950, all inclusive except airfare.
