As most of you may know, Ralph White, who has been the manager of the James River Park System, is retiring this year due to ill health. Since the 1970’s Ralph has worked tirelessly to maintain a wilderness park, and part of being a “jewel” on the James” is due to his efforts. He and his wife Cricket (yes, that’s really her name) have both been great environmental stewards to Richmond.
The Richmond Times Dispatch is holding a contest to name a pair of majestic eagles who are being monitored via live web camera. The voting ends Thursday, February 9. I cannot think of a more fitting tribute to Ralph and his patient wife than to name the eagles after them.
