The Corporation for National and Community Service was established as a Federal agency in 1993 to engage Americans of all ages and backgrounds in community-based service. Together, its Senior Corps and AmeriCorps programs promote the ethic of service and help solve critical community problems in every state, many Indian tribes, and most U. S. territories. As a result, hundreds of thousands of Americans are joining forces to address community needs in education, homeland security, housing, health care, environmental protection, and disaster relief.
This prestigious fellowship is open to AmeriCorps alumni who have exceptional leadership, drive, and commitment to national service, who will help to advance the mission and goals of the Corporation. (This is an awesome opportunity for a graduating Bonners!)
The 2012 Eli Segal Fellow will:
• Help to advance the mission of national service and the strategic goals of CNCS.
• Work directly with the Director of AmeriCorps and closely with the CEO’s office on projects that advance the national service field.
• Carry out projects, advance their career development and gain a first-hand understanding of national service and the workings of a Federal agency.
• The fellowship is open to people who have successfully completed a full-time term of service in AmeriCorps State National, AmeriCorps NCCC (1,700 hours), or AmeriCorps VISTA (one year).
